A Well of Gratitude
Do you remember when you were five? Perhaps you played hopscotch, tossed a ball to your dog, or dreamed of shapes in the clouds. You probably didn’t spend your time worrying about water.
This year we met Mangatim, a little girl with big dreams, who was excited to start kindergarten. Her school, Glow Life Academy, was founded to serve refugee families in a very remote area along the border of India and Myanmar.
Our new friend Mangatim :-)
When Headmaster Somi started the school, he knew that education was a big need, but so was water. In fact, access to clean water was a requirement for the school to remain open! There are so many moments when schoolchildren need water - to wash their hands, or to fill their bottles for drinking - but in this community, many families still struggled to collect even a single bucket of decent water each day.
That’s why this fall, Fresh Water Friends launched a matching campaign to build a well at Glow Life Academy - because we knew that bringing them water would help keep the doors open and bless the local community! And thanks to the overflowing generosity of our donors, their well was built in just a few weeks!
Now, instead of worrying about dirty water or being distracted by their thirst, Mangatim and her classmates can learn, play, and get an education that will change their lives. And the doors to a better life will stay open, too.
On behalf of all these students and the villagers nearby, Pastor Somi asked us to tell you… “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and care!”
