Making Life Better for Thirsty Students, One Drop at a Time

You may remember our friend Somi from our water filter project last summer…

Somi was living in a war-torn region, determined to share God’s love with refugees who were squatting on a tribal warlord’s land. They were drinking water piped from mountain streams and stored in murky tubs. And because of our generous donors, they received water filters that made their water clean and safe!

But Somi wasn’t content to stop there. He dreamed of a school to serve the refugee children, so they didn’t become yet another statistic. Over the past eighteen months, that school has become a reality – and now, Glow Life Academy educates more than 100 refugee children daily.

Here’s the thing: the school needs clean water! And right now, we have an amazing opportunity: a generous, caring Friend has sponsored a $6,000 matching gift to raise funds for a well at Somi’s school, plus two other schools that need clean water. Every gift made by October 5 will go to help these schools, and will be matched at 100%! 

Studies have shown that being underhydrated by even 2% can affect students’ attention, psychomotor skills, and immediate memory, harming their chances of academic success. That’s not what we want for these kids – we want them to be healthy, think clearly, and have one less obstacle to learning. Let’s get them the essential water they need!
