A New Chapter of Blessing and Renewal

In this small, close-knit community, the search for water was a daily burden. Women and children would spend hours walking, searching for clean water to nourish their families. That search exacted an especially heavy toll on the children and teenagers. Though they are bright and eager learners, the nearest schools are more than two miles away, and students faced an impossible choice: walk miles to get water, or walk miles to school. There just weren’t enough hours in the day to do both.

Two years ago, this community asked if we could help them build a well... and we said yes! Now that they have fresh water in the middle of their village, the choices look a lot better.

Water is collected in just 15-30 minutes a day, allowing the young people to use their precious time for walking to school, and dramatically increasing their opportunities for education and advancement.

In fact, now that their water needs are met, village leaders estimate that 90% of their children are attending school!

The village elders are excited about the possibilities in their future. “The arrival of this borewell marks a new chapter of blessing and renewal for the village,” one man told us. “It is now blessing our small community and our neighbors with plentiful clean water every day.”

“Thank you for this gift of jeeva jala!”
